The mining of rare metals such as cassiterite, wolframite, tantalum, iron ore, and gold in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its surrounding countries and regions has caused serious human rights and environmental problems. Much of the mining activity in these areas is linked to or sponsored by conflicting armed groups. It has led to long-term instability in the area, so it is called “conflict minerals”.
JYT is deeply involved in the fields of fingerprint recognition modules and force touch modules and will purchase materials containing metal for its own products. In order to fulfill corporate social responsibilities and avoid the use of conflict minerals, JYT commits and requires the company and its suppliers to strictly follow the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP), Responsible Minerals Initiative (RCI), and Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct. So far, our company has not found any use of raw materials involving conflict minerals, and the raw materials used have passed customer certification and meet customer requirements.
Conflict Minerals Policy:
We do not support or use metals mined from armed conflicts, illegal mining, or poor working conditions—which are called “conflict minerals”. Suppliers should investigate their products containing gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn), tungsten (W), and other metals and confirm the sources of these metals.
JYT promises as follows:
1. Do not purchase conflict minerals such as tantalum, wolframite, tin, gold, cobalt, and their derivatives from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its surrounding countries and regions.
2. Conduct due diligence on the source and custody of conflict minerals in products and create a conflict minerals report based on the required elements. Smelters that have indeed been reported and verified are 100% conflict-free.
3. Select and promote a supply chain commitment not to use conflict minerals, require the establishment of a conflict-free mineral procurement policy, conduct and submit due diligence reports, and confirm that the smelters involved are included in third-party certification lists such as RMI.
4. Promote our ethical and sustainable sourcing policies to our suppliers, employees, customers, and investors.
5. Support and cooperate with customers to comply with relevant legal requirements, conduct due diligence, and submit reports on a regular basis.
