SBTi Commitment

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global organization co-founded by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). SBTi defines and promotes best practices in setting science-based targets, provides resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adopting these practices, and independently assesses and approves corporate targets. Its focus is on helping global businesses cut emissions by half by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Companies can commit to net-zero through SBTi by setting short-term and long-term science-based targets that align with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C and have been verified.

After thoroughly understanding the key elements of science-based net-zero targets and SBTi’s target-setting process, JYT officially submitted its commitment to SBTi in 2023. Based on climate science and using SBTi’s Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) verification pathway, JYT set short-term and net-zero targets. The goals include reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission intensity with 42% compare to 2022 by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
